Jacob T Sorensen
Jake entered UNR as a member of the BS/MD program and a recipient of the university's presidential scholarship. Now, he is pursuing the MD/PhD training. Working in a virology lab and being a member of the MD/PhD program has provided Jake with a unique opportunity to contribute to our community during the pandemic.

The best advice I can tell any student interested in pursuing a PhD or MD/PhD is to never stop reaching for the stars; as much as you believe your potential is, you can achieve and become more than that. UNR is the place to make that happen and everyone here is going to get you there.
Majid Khan
Majid is a first-generation student, Nevada native, and future physician-scientist - as rare, if not rarer, than a four-leaf clover!

Alexander Sung, MD, PhD
I was born and raised in Reno NV, and obtained my MD and PhD degrees at UNR. My research interests include NK cells and their applications for cancer therapeutics. I am currently doing my residency at University of Southern California.
