Special Instructions |
- Sample may be stored up to 7 days refrigerated at 2-8° C.
- Centrifuge and remove serum from clot as soon as possible and before storing. Transfer separated serum or plasma to a labeled plastic transport tube.
- If need to store longer than 7 days, serum or plasma may be frozen at -20° C or colder.
- Specimens with precipitate should be clarified by centrifugation.
- Do not use heat-inactivated specimens.
- Serum collection tubes should not be used with heparinized patients. Use plasma collection tubes.
