Overview

Timothy Baker MD, Brian Lauf DMSc, and Nicole Jacobs Ph.D. will provide valuable insights and strategies. They will teach you how to adjust your teaching methods and expectations to suit medical learners’ varying levels of knowledge and skills. Understanding these differences allows you to identify where each student is in their medical learning journey, creating an appropriately challenging environment that fosters growth. This approach will better prepare future physicians to serve communities in Nevada. You will learn to recall and describe the varying knowledge levels of medical students, recognizing distinct learning objectives and differentiating clinical competencies at various educational stages. You will critically examine how to adjust lesson plans and curriculum rigor based on students’ experience levels and consider their diverse backgrounds when teaching in a clinical setting.
