Rural Outreach Clinics

Frontier AHEC supports the Rural Outreach Clinics (ROCs) run by first-year UNR Med students, providing free, regular healthcare services to rural communities in Fallon, Silver Springs, and Yerington.

Medical students and collaborating health professions students offer services including general physical exams for all ages, lab testing and blood draws, immunizations, and other basic healthcare.

To ensure ongoing access to care, the clinic rotates locations each month among the three rural communities.

Eligible students can receive free housing for the duration of their rotations.

Operation Healthcare Bound

Frontier AHEC supports Operation Health Care Bound, a one-day, hands-on healthcare immersion experience for rural Nevada high school students ages 16–18 to explore healthcare careers, learn about medical and allied health professions, and participate in interactive activities and demonstrations.
