Summary
Research Interests:
For many years I have studied the immunobiology of yeast b-glucan, most recently as a vaccine adjuvant for intradermal and oral vaccine delivery. My early work in cancer involved characterization of the tumor microenvironment in mammary adenocarcinomas. More recently, I have been working on cancer immunotherapy using a combination of oncolytic viruses, immunomodulators, and checkpoint inhibitors. I am also interested in comparative immunology, and have worked on the immune response of the desert tortoise to bacterial pathogens that cause upper respiratory tract disease.
