A Healthy Nevada starts here.

Together, we can create lasting change and improve the health of our communities.

We share a commitment to a culture of trust, respect, diversity, inclusivity and accountability. Together, we aim to provide the best possible experience for our patients, our colleagues, our learners, and all the members of the Renown/UNR Med team.

UNR Med has a strong focus on serving rural and underserved populations built into curricular and extra-curricular activities. I had the opportunity to act as a manager for the Student Outreach Clinic, which specifically offers medical services to uninsured individuals in our community. To have the opportunity to run a clinic as students and see patients under the supervision of volunteer physicians allows students to gain early experience in Years 1 and 2 and fills a critical gap in the health care system.

Our donor programs

UNR Med is grateful for the donations from the Anatomical Donation Program and the Organ Donor Program in Northern Nevada. These programs are vital initiatives that allow individuals to contribute to the advancement of medical education and research. These programs play a crucial role in training future health care providers, fostering a deeper appreciation for the intricacies of anatomy and the ethical considerations surrounding human life.

There is a great sense of community and collaboration among my peers and the faculty at UNR Med. I’d say the places you see collaboration the most is at the Student Outreach Clinic, Rural Outreach Clinic and in the anatomy lab. I always feel so inspired and grateful after seeing patients with my fellow classmates at the clinic. The feeling of working as a team so early on in medical school is special, and not something every medical school offers.
