Overview

An Introduction to Evaluating, Treating, and/or Referring Patients with Suspected Substance Use Disorders Webinar is created especially for emergency department and pain management physicians. Participants will learn the fundamentals of using ASAM as a tool in the evaluation of suspected substance misuse. Also, brief information on utilizing buprenorphine products in outpatient and hospital settings will be discussed.

Learning Objectives

Following participation in this course, participants should be able to:

  • Describe ASAM as an assessment tool to evaluate possible substance use disorders.
  • Discuss the benefits of treating substance use disorders with buprenorphine.
  • Develop a process to offer referrals for further evaluation and treatment options
