Western Region FLEX Conference

Who Should Attend

The 2026 Western Region Flex Conference will provide opportunities for CAH administrators and staff, state Flex program staff, and rural health-care leaders to share information and best practices with their peers in the Western region of the United States. The conference will also provide an opportunity for participants to learn about the latest state and national health policy developments and their impact on CAHs and other rural health care providers. 

Learning Objectives

Following participation in this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Outline challenges and opportunities for providers of care from a federal point of view, including regulatory and legislative updates
  • Explain the imperatives of providers moving to value-based care models and preparing for the future
  • Describe elements of the rural challenges and opportunities on the horizon
  • Gain insight into the most up-to-date federal legislative and regulatory updates that impact RHCs, including telehealth and Medicare Advantage
  • Review the regulatory and lawmaking processes in Washington, D.C. and better understand an RHC's role in impacting them 
  • Prepare for changes to current quality measures and be aware of anticipated new measures relevant for CAHs
  • Describe the rationale for why an individual critical access hospital (CAH) may (or may not) have an Overall Hospital Star Rating available on Care Compare
  • Identify if next steps are needed to ensure your CAH is prepared to meet increasing eCQM reporting requirements

Registration

The registration fee includes two breakfasts, one lunch, and social reception.

Early Registration Fee (on or before May 6, 2026): $500
Late Registration Fee (after May 6, 2026): $600

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing to the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, Office of Continuing Medical Education before May 15, 2026 will receive a full refund less a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations on or after May 15, 2026 are non-refundable.
