Internet Point of Care

Earn CME credit by researching a self-identified, specific, clinical question

Using approved UNR, School of Medicine databases through the Savitt Library, Internet Point of Care (IPoC) CME activity is intended to give Renown physicians the opportunity to research a self-identified clinical question at the point of care and then to apply that knowledge into either their practice or the systems of care in which they work. As a clinical reference tool, this activity is designed to facilitate quality improvement through self-directed learning.

Objectives

Following participation in this course, participants should be able to:

  • Develop a well-defined clinical question
  • Identify and access pertinent sources of information
  • Conduct research using peer-reviewed and evidence-based resources relevant to patient care
  • Evaluate the relevance and effectiveness of each resource used in meeting their identified learning needs
  • Discuss how the findings apply to their practice and whether they led to changes in knowledge, competence, or performance
