Overview

John Westhoff, M.D. will provide an overview of how artificial intelligence is being integrated into UNR Med’s preclinical curriculum, highlighting its growing role in medical education. He will examine both the opportunities and challenges associated with AI-supported, evidence-based learning, with attention to how these tools can support knowledge acquisition while maintaining academic rigor. Participants will gain insight into the ways generative AI is reshaping teaching methods, assessment strategies, and professional development for faculty and learners alike. He will also discuss practical considerations for incorporating AI into educational settings in a way that supports innovation while preserving the core principles of medical training.
