Renown Sports Medicine Conference

Overview

This year’s conference will bring together sports medicine professionals who want to learn more about sports medicine specific referrals, golf related injuries and treatment, the peri and post-menopausal athlete, and using integrative medicine in patient centered orthopedic care.

Learning Objectives

Following participation in this course, participants should be able to:

  • Define the skill set and training of sports medicine physicians
  • Identify common golf-related injuries across the spine and extremities, the biomechanical factors that contribute to them, and recognize the physical and movement-based deficits that increase injury risk and limit performance in golfers
  • Understand objective assessment strategies used to guide safe return to golf and reduce reinjury risk
  • Identify hormone and performance changes in peri and post menopause, the role of hormone therapy, and training changes for optimal performance
  • Understand the role of integrative medicine in sports medicine, review common evidence-based therapies used in athletes, and evaluate the benefits, risks, and regulatory considerations when applying them to injury prevention, recovery, and performance
  • Develop skills to counsel athletes and incorporate integrative strategies into patient-centered care
  • Understand how the multifidus muscle causes low back pain and learn treatment options to provide longer lasting pain relief

Who Should Attend

Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, PAs, Physical Therapists, Nurses, Residents, and Medical Students in the fields of Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation Orthopedics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.

Free registration is available for University of Nevada, School of Medicine students and residents, but you must register in advance.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received by March 30, 2026 will receive a full refund less a $20 cancellation fee. Cancellations after March 30, 2026 are non-refundable.
