The Nevada Geriatric Education Center's (NGEC) mission is to enhance the quality of life and well-being among elders through the education of health care professionals, faculty and students and care partners.

Achieving excellence in relationship-centered dementia care

Register for this FREE four-part series designed to empower care partners (family and professional) with the skills and insights needed for high-quality, relationship-centered, culturally responsive dementia care. 

Wednesday and Thursday, April 30, May 1, 7, & 8, 2025 | 9:00 am - 12:15 p.m. PT

Drawing from evidence-based practices and a holistic understanding of dementia, this comprehensive training offers tools and approaches to enhance communication, foster meaningful relationships, and engage in individualized care and support. This series is broadly applicable across care settings, equipping participants with strategies to meet the unique needs of each person living with dementia they serve. 

This is a four-part series, in which each session builds upon the material in the prior sessions. Please plan to attend all four sessions.

Interprofessional Certificate in Geriatric Care

Learn how to apply the 4Ms framework (what matters, medication, mentation and mobility) of age-friendly health systems to offer better care to your patients and advance in your career! This certificate is offered online and at your own pace with select opportunities for interactive/interdisciplinary volunteer patient simulation.

Improving the Care of Elders through Community and Academic Partnerships (ICECAP)

This interprofessional geriatrics education network offers training and resources for primary care teams and family caregivers. The network is a partnership among academia, clinical sites and community services that trains current and future providers to assess and address the primary care needs of older adults by transforming clinical training environments to support age-friendly health care.
