Overview

Most medical providers are lacking in supervised experience and training when it comes to the prevention, identification and treatment of eating disorders. Well intended providers often cause iatrogenic harm. Common errors and missteps will be discussed with case examples.

Learning Objectives

Following participation in this course, participants should be able to:

  • Understand and avoid the most common missteps that can contribute to disordered eating and eating disorders
  • Challenge the most common myths about eating disorders
  • Identify strategies to best support patients with eating disorders

Program Faculty

Lindsey Ricciardi, Ph.D., CEDS-C, Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders and related concerns. In addition to completing a focused internship and fellowship in eating disorders, she is certified by the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders and she is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
