Sports Medicine Experiences

Faculty in the reno rodeo arena

The fellowship includes working with Division I athletes at the University of Nevada, high school athletes, athletes with disabilities and aging athletes. It includes scuba diving at Lake Tahoe, the Reno Rodeo rotation, manning the sports medicine tents at the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Run and Winter Sports rotations at Northstar Ski Resort and Pallisades, USA.

Many rotations are with local area physicians in multiple specialties.

Didactic teaching includes weekly presentations and articles. We hold sports medicine journal club monthly and on Mondays at lunchtime for bread-and-butter sports medicine lectures.

Experiences Include

Research

A Scholarly Activity is required and opportunities are available. The Sports Medicine fellow will attend the AMSSM Fellow's Research Conference and the Annual AMSSM Conference.

Sports Medicine Complex

The Sports Medicine Complex, located next to Cashell Fieldhouse, on the University of Nevada campus is a one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art complex offering Nevada student-athletes excellent sports care. This is a treatment center for Nevada student-athletes and a diagnostic/therapy center for area residents.
