Benefits
All community faculty members qualify for Adjunct/Clinical Faculty status at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. This status allows community faculty to obtain many of the same benefits as a School of Medicine faculty member in addition to other educator and health care provider discounts.
Savitt Medical Library
The Savitt Medical Library provides community faculty with access to over 1,000 online medical journals, and databases including: Access Medicine, Access Surgery, Clinical Key, The Cochrane Library, DynaMed Plus, and JournalWatch.
Wolf Card and Discounts
Each community/joint faculty member is given the option to obtain a Faculty Identification Card, or WolfCard, in order to build their connection with the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. WolfCards, along with a NetID, entitles community/joint faculty to benefits including discounted access to the University of Nevada Reno’s (UNR) E.L. Wiegand Fitness Center, discounts on Nevada Wolf Shop purchases, Wolf Pack Season tickets, as well as, checking out materials in the Savitt Medical Library, Knowledge Center, and other locations on the University campus.

Professional Development
We offer a range of professional development opportunities including orientations, trainings, workshops and educational activities.
Parking and Transportation Services
Community/Joint faculty are eligible to obtain a University of Nevada, Reno parking pass at faculty rates. For short visits to campus for teaching/mentoring activities, please contact the Office for Community Faculty to reserve an OCF parking spot. ocf@med.unr.edu or 775-682-8390
Continuing Medical Education
Community/joint faculty can participate in reduced rate or free CEU offerings from UNR Med’s Office of Continuing Medical Education, which works to advance healthcare professionals along their lifelong learning continuum by providing high-quality professional development opportunities to enhance their ability to provide excellent patient care.
Wolf Pack Athletics
Community/joint faculty members receive discounted season tickets for UNR athletic events including, but not limited to: football, basketball, and baseball.
Grant-in-Aid
Reduced price credit hours for Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) courses are offered specifically to our community/joint faculty members who qualify based on minimum participation hours from the prior semester. Community/joint faculty can take up to 6 credit hours each fall and spring semester and up to 3 credit hours over the summer term. Some restrictions apply (for more information please see the University of Nevada, Reno Administrative Manual, Section 2,170.and Nevada Board of Regents Handbook Title 4 Section 11).
Campus Fitness and Recreation
Community/joint faculty are offered discounted memberships to the campus recreation and wellness facilities, including the E.L. Wiegand Fitness Center and Lombardi Pool.
