Profile Photo Guidelines

To maintain a professional and cohesive appearance across all platforms, at UNR Med we require that all profile photos meet the following guidelines:

  1. Professional Photography: Profile photos must be professionally taken to ensure clarity, quality, and consistency. Selfies, snapshots, or low-resolution images are not acceptable.
    • We’d prefer that all profile photos be taken by our in-house photographer, Brin Reynolds. Please get in touch with him to learn of his availability. He will also help you ensure that your profile photo meets all the necessary guidelines listed here.
  2. High Resolution: Profile photos should be high resolution to ensure clarity and sharpness, especially when viewed on larger screens or printed materials. Images should be at least 300 pixels per inch (PPI) for optimal quality.
  3. Appropriate Background: Choose a clean and neutral background that does not distract from the subject. Avoid busy or cluttered backgrounds that may detract from the professional appearance of the photo.
  4. Business Professional Attire: Individuals in the photo should be dressed in business professional attire. This includes:
    • Business suits, dress shirts, blouses, ties, dress skirts or pants, and dress shoes. Avoid casual clothing such as T-shirts, jeans, or athletic wear.
    • If not in professional attire, more casual attire needs to be non-logo. OR, you can represent our school with UNR Med or UNR branded clothing.
  5. Facial Expression: Maintain a friendly and approachable facial expression. Avoid overly serious or overly casual expressions. A warm smile can help convey professionalism and approachability.
  6. Head and Shoulders: The photo should primarily focus on the individual's head and shoulders, with the face clearly visible. Avoid extreme close-ups or photos that crop out important details.
  7. Consistency: If the profile photo will be used across multiple platforms (e.g., website, social media, email), ensure consistency in appearance and style to maintain brand identity.

By adhering to these guidelines, we can ensure that our People Directory and the UNR Med website projects a professional image that reflects positively on our organization and its members.
