Educating Medical Students

Community/joint faculty are among the most important assets of the School of Medicine. They volunteer to share their knowledge and expertise with our students in a wide variety of practice environments.

Community Based Faculty

Community and joint faculty are one the School of Medicine's most important assets. They share their knowledge, skills and abilities with our learners in a wide variety of practice environments and give our learners a holistic view of medicine.

The medical education at UNR Med reflects the depth and breadth of these community-based partnerships. From their own patient exam rooms to the lecture halls of the medical school, community/joint faculty provide unique learning opportunities for our learners. And in turn, our learners – as future health care professionals - value community/joint faculty for the real-world perspective and mentorship.

Building Meaningful Relationships

It is our goal to build meaningful relationships between community/joint faculty and the School of Medicine. We encourage faculty to nurture professional relationships with learners to further their education and enhance the institution. The role of a community/joint faculty member is to support and advance the medical practice opportunities at the School of Medicine.
