Global Health Student Interest Group

Mission Statement: The UNR Med Physician Assistant Studies Global Health Student Interest Group provides a forum for students to share experiences and develop strategies on how best to approach health care challenges both in our local community and abroad. Our mission is to understand and address the diverse and unique health challenges that affect vulnerable local, national, and international populations; to recognize our own biases and to continually strive to develop cultural competency and sensitivity; and, to care for and advocate for members of our global community. Through collaboration and education, we can establish a framework as medical professionals to serve ethically and effectively in the global community.

The UNR Med Physician Assistant Studies Student Veteran Society

Mission Statement: The UNR Med Physician Assistant Studies Student Veteran Society provides military veterans with resources, opportunities, and support at the UNR PA Studies Program, to facilitate a successful education and provide a strong foundation for years to come. The purpose of the Student Veteran Society is to foster camaraderie and networking among veterans. The society is a non-political, non-partisan social group whose purpose is to stimulate discussion and education on various aspects of military culture. As students of medicine, we utilize our experiences to promote diversity and understanding, while striving to close the gap between our nation's military and the society it serves. We will continue to expand our group's core mission, with events and opportunities both on and off-campus. The Student Veteran Society is designed to address veterans' issues while highlighting opportunities for social, academic, pre-professional, and philanthropic engagement.
