Summary

Dr. Klass is a 1976 graduate of New York Medical College. He trained in Internal Medicine and was Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and completed an Endocrinology fellowship at George Washington University Medical Center and the V.A. Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He practiced Endocrinology on Long Island, NY from 1982-2008. He then moved to Reno, NV where he joined the Internal Medicine faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. He served as Interim Chair of Internal Medicine from 2010-2012 and was then appointed Associate Dean for Statewide Initiatives. Currently he serves as Senior Associate Dean, Statewide Initiatives. In 2011, he brought Project ECHO to Nevada, recognizing its potential to impact the limited access to sub-specialty care in rural and underserved communities in Nevada. Nevada was the fourth replication of Project ECHO. There are currently over 120 ECHO replications in the U.S. and 20 countries around the world. He is Director of Project ECHO Nevada and is the Governor of the Nevada Chapter of the American College of Physicians (2015-2019).
