Student Wellness Committee
The student-elected wellness committee is pivotal in addressing the unique challenges faced by UNR Med students, including high levels of stress, burnout and mental health issues. Our committee is composed of students elected by their peers to advocate for, plan and implement wellness initiatives tailored to the needs of their colleagues in the demanding medical education environment.
Functions of the Student-Elected Wellness Committee:
- Advocacy and Awareness: This committee advocates for student health and wellness needs. They raise awareness on critical issues such as mental health, physical health, stress management and healthy lifestyles.
- Program Development: Committee members play a crucial role in developing and implementing wellness programs that cater to the needs of the student body. This can include organizing workshops, wellness weeks, guest lectures and other educational events.
- Feedback and Evaluation: This committee gathers feedback from students about their health and wellness needs and the effectiveness of existing programs, helping UNR Med to continually improve their wellness offerings.
