Extended Leave of Absences
- Student-requested leaves of absence due to illness or any other emergency are to be made to the Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs and will be presented to the SPCC. Students who request a leave of absence are expected to attend classes and continue to be students in good standing until such leave is reviewed and a decision is made by the SPCC.
- Students who are on a leave of absence are not eligible to receive financial aid and may be required to start payment on existing student loans. A leave of absence may create a gap in a student's professional timeline that will be of concern to residency program directors, state medical boards, credentialing and various other entities.
