Brian Passalacqua, M.D.

Associate Professor, Family and Community Medicine

Summary

I grew up as the oldest of seven children in Healdsburg, California, along the Russian River in the heart of the Sonoma County wine country. I attended Santa Clara University of Southern California, Where one of the highlights was getting to deliver 40-50 babies as a senior medical student. I subsequently did my Family Medicine training at the University of Nevada, Reno, through the School of Medicine. I finished as Chief Resident in 1993.

My first position out of residency was in a multi-specialty family practice group for many years, and more recently was an employee in an office with an electronic medical record. Additionally, I am in my tenth year working part-time in a rural Nevada emergency room.

I've now come full circle after fourteen years in private practice, and returned to the Department of Family and Community Medicine, where I look forward to delivering babies, seeing patients, and teaching residents and medical students.

My wife is Janet Frey, R.N., and our daughter, Mary is an assistant principal at Hug High School.
