Summary

Dr. Fay Roepcke has spent many years living in Lake Tahoe. Her love of the outdoors and passion for teaching future physicians led her to the University of Nevada, Reno. She completed her undergraduate degrees at California State University, Chico earning a Bachelor of Science of biology and Bachelor of Arts in Multicultural and Gender Studies and International Relations. She earned a Masters of Public Health from A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ. Her passion for helping underserved communities led her to medical school where she graduated from St. George’s University with her doctorate of medicine in 2016. Dr. Roepcke completed her residency in family and community medicine, with a concentration on reproductive health, at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in Fresno, California. While at UCSF Fresno Dr. Roepcke completed several rotations in rural medicine, including in Yosemite National Park. After residency graduation Dr. Roepcke completed the Junior Faculty in Women’s Health fellowship at AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida. During fellowship she completed two medical missions to rural, southern Mexico screening for and treating cervical cancer. Ultimately Dr. Roepcke chose to work at the University of Nevada, Reno teaching medical students and family medicine residents focusing on rural populations, women’s healthcare and wilderness medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside gardening, hiking, backpacking and whitewater rafting.
