Education

Mrs. Walden received both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Areas of Interest

Mrs. Walden is interested in many aspects of the profession of Speech-Language Pathology. Specific areas of interest and experience include Autism Spectrum Disorders and Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Additionally, she was certified through the Ski-Hi Institute in 2012 to serve families of children with hearing loss during the early intervention period.

Clinical Experience

Mrs. Walden worked for eleven years as a staff SLP at The Continuum, a local privately-owned rehabilitation clinic. During the time she was a clinician at The Continuum, she had the privilege of working as a member of a multidisciplinary team which included: Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Developmental Specialists on a daily basis.

Leadership

Mrs. Walden has held multiple leadership positions within the field of Speech-Language Pathology, both at the state and national levels. Currently, she is the Vice president of the Nevada Speech and Hearing Association (2012-2014).

Family

Mrs. Walden, her husband David, and their two sons (Jack & Sam) live in Reno and enjoy many outdoor activities. Mrs. Walden’s sister is also a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Washoe County School District.
