Post-Baccalaureate acceptance process for admitted students
Upon being admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) Post-Baccalaureate Program, you will receive detailed instructions on how to accept our offer, how to apply for scholarships, and a list of tasks.
Post-Bac timeline

August 2025 - May 2026 | Post-Bac students complete 30-34 credits of upper-division science courses and MCAT preparatory program. |
May 2026 - September 2026 | Post-Bac students take MCAT and submit M.D. application to UNR Med. |
August 2027 | Post-Bac students who meet program requirements matriculate as medical students at UNR Med. |
Note: Upon successfully completing the Post-Bac Program requirements, there is a single gap year before students matriculate to medical school.
Program costs
Credits taken in the Post-Bac Program are assessed based upon residency status as undergraduate credits and include all mandatory fees. Eligibility for in-state tuition is determined by the University’s Office of Admissions & Records based upon information submitted on the NSHE Residency Form. This form is submitted upon selection for an interview. For questions about eligibility for financial assistance, please contact finaid@unr.edu.
