Physician Assistant student organizations

How to get involved as a Physician Assistant student

Physician Assistant (PA) Studies student organizations at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) are instrumental in supporting PA students on their journey to becoming skilled, compassionate health care providers. PA student groups often focus on topics like primary care, rural health and patient advocacy, providing invaluable experiences that complement classroom learning. By engaging in these organizations, PA students broaden their perspectives, develop critical skills and build networks that will support their careers and enhance their impact in the communities they serve.

Pre-PA Student Club (Coalition- Science & Engineering)

The mission of the Pre-Physician Assistant Club is to familiarize students with the Physician Assistant profession and the admission process through seminars, guest speakers, hands-on experience, critical thinking, as well as community service and engagement opportunities; all of which that will adequately prepare students to enter the carried PA schools. Our goal is also to prepare Pre-PAs by providing an educational environment that fosters learning and prepares students for a career in primary care.
