  • Small class sizes: With a cohort of just 70 students, we offer a personalized learning experience and the opportunity to develop strong professional relationships with faculty, staff and fellow students.
  • Student engagement: Our students are actively involved in shaping UNR Med's culture of diversity and inclusion. They serve as representatives on medical school committees focused on curriculum, admissions and medical education. Additionally, they manage the Student Outreach Clinic, providing free medical care to uninsured and underinsured individuals in Reno and surrounding rural communities.
  • Learning support: Our on-site Learning, Wellness and Resource Center provides holistic services and resources to support students' academic progression and well-being, ensuring a well-rounded educational journey.

UNR Med’s small class size has given me the opportunity to know my classmates very well. This allows us to collaborate as a team effectively whether it's on a group project, during cadaver dissection, or at the clinic. The community focus [at] UNR Med gives medical students an early start to seeing patients, charting and precepting to physicians. These experiences are priceless and a privilege since many other medical schools don’t let their students see patients in their first year.
