Family Medicine Scholarly Concentration
The Scholarly Concentration in Family Medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) offers students a comprehensive understanding of primary care, emphasizing patient-centered care, continuity of care and community health. Students will spend time in clinical settings, learning the intricacies of family medicine and engaging in research and advocacy projects. This program prepares students to take on leadership roles in family medicine, where they will address both individual patient needs and broader public health challenges, especially in underserved populations.

Students will also have the opportunity to attend the "National Conference for Students and Residents in Family Medicine," where they can advocate for health care policy reform and participate in state and national leadership activities.
