Admissions process

Admissions requirements

Please note, these are the minimum requirements.

Required Courses

The program prerequisites provide the foundational knowledge necessary for success in the Medical Laboratory Science curriculum. Because of the scientific and technical nature of the profession, coursework in anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, and statistics equips students with the essential background needed to understand complex laboratory concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and successfully complete both the didactic and clinical components of the program.

The program does not grant waivers for required admission prerequisites or coursework within the MLS curriculum. All applicants and enrolled students are required to complete all admission requirements and all components of the curriculum.

*Please note Advanced Placement (AP) courses will not be accepted. View the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) course equivalencies.
