Medical Laboratory Science Program Admissions

Applications submitted through Graduate School application portal are screened and reviewed for compliance with program requirements and prerequisites. All applications and supporting documents are reviewed by the admissions committee and will select candidates for an interview in November of each year.

The program's admissions cycle begins the final week of April and ends August 31^st of each year.

Note: Deadline exception of the inaugural year ends September 30^th. 

All applicants who applied to the program will receive an email from the program by the end of the admission cycle notifying them of their application status.

Applicants who complete interview process will be evaluated by the Admissions Committee using a holistic review process.  The admissions committee will select candidates based on reference evaluations, cumulative grade point average, essay of interest, interview performance, and admissions committee evaluations.

Candidates are ranked and admission offers are extended to the highest-ranked candidates. The number of students admitted each year is limited by the availability of approved clinical training placements. All interviewed applicants will receive an email notifying them of their admissions decision by the conclusion of the admissions cycle.

To secure your seat in the class, selected applicants are required to respond, in writing, to the program and include a non-refundable deposit of one thousand dollars ($1000). If enrolled, this deposit is applied toward the applicant's first-semester tuition.

• Background Check
• Proof of health insurance.
• Drug Screening
• Documentation acknowledging the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Immunizations
  • Complete Hepatitis B vaccination series.
  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella – 2 documented doses or titer.
  • Varicella – two documented doses or titer.
  • Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap) – one adult dose or booster within last 10 years. TD is not acceptable.
  • Influenza – Annual vaccination during flu season.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) screening – Two step TB test or QuantiFERON testing which will be performed in January prior to start of class.  If positive must be followed with chest X-ray.

• Applicants must hold U.S. Citizenship or have permanent resident status.

• Must have earned a baccalaureate degree or higher from a regionally accredited U.S. institution with completion of pre-requisite courses.

• Overall qualifying GPA 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Science GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• A grade of "C-" or higher on the required academic courses.
• The minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) for admission is 2.75 at the time of application.

• Official college transcripts from every university or college attended

• Minimum 16 semester credits or 24 quarter credits including:
  • Microbiology (1 semester minimum)
  • Immunology (1 semester minimum)
  • Human Anatomy and/or Physiology (1 semester minimum)
  • Genetics and/or Molecular Biology (1 semester minimum)

• Minimum 16 semester credits or 24 quarter credits including:
  • Chemistry I (1 semester minimum)
  • Chemistry II (1 semester minimum)
  • Organic Chemistry I (1 semester minimum)
  • Biochemistry (1 semester minimum)

• Minimum 3 semester credits or 4 quarter credits including:
  • Statistics or Biostatics (1 semester minimum)
