Case Reviews and Specialty Consultations
The core principle of the Project ECHO Model is to offer a platform for case consultation with subject matter experts, specialists, and colleagues. Our goal is to provide a collaborative learning environment where cases can be used as learning opportunities for all those involved. In addition, the individual reviewing the case will receive specific recommendations to implement during their next visit.
Why Submit a Case
Do you have a patient or client:
- Who has complex or challenging symptoms?
- And are unsure how to proceed in providing optimal care?
- That you are having trouble working up and diagnosing?
- Whose case is novel or unique for others to learn from?
- Who could benefit from access to specialist care and/or community resources?
How to Submit a Case
- Determine the appropriate ECHO Program for reviewing your case and register to attend
- Join a session and sign-up to review a case during an available slot
- One of our Program Coordinators will contact you with the link to the Case Review Form
- Complete the associated virtual Case Review Form and click Submit
- Celebrate! One of our Project ECHO Nevada Program Coordinators will connect with you with final details.
Additional Considerations
- Avoid including HIPAA protected information such as name, DOB, address, or other identifying features
- Cases do not need to relate to the specific didactic/lecture topic for the session they are being presented at
- Ensure you have a clear, concise consultation question and be prepared to answer clarifying questions from the group
- The form should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete and does not need to be completed in entirety (some sections can be left blank)
- Cases can consist of issues other than patient care such as quality improvement, process, or policy related matters
- Recommendations will be catalogued by the team and sent after the session
