Summary

Dr. Williams joined the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine family medicine faculty in 2002. Dr. Williams spent 6 years as the residency program director and is currently an associate professor. Dr. Williams has been on several School of Medicine and hospital committees including the graduate medical education committee, Resident supervision committee and the medical student admissions committee.

Personal Info

I grew up in Odessa, TX and did all of my schooling in Texas. I completed medical school at Texas Tech University then came to Reno for residency in 1999. I was hired on a faculty after residency. Since then, I have spent 6 years as PD 2004-2010, then PD again 2017 - present. I met my wife (a Reno native) while in residency. Married to Tammy, 2 children and a dog.

Passions/hobbies: Woodworking, boating, snow skiing. Professional: Health care screening, residency education/administration, hospital medicine

Why UNR?: Reno is a great town and our residency is a strong program with history. But, I'm mostly on faculty because of the fantastic people I get to work with here.Favorite book: Catcher in the Rye-Ha!, Ishmael.
