Visiting

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine may offer a limited number of rotations which will be posted in VSLO in late May.

When visiting student opportunities are available, The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine accepts only fourth year medical students from medical schools accredited by either the LCME or the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine. If your school meets this accreditation requirement please complete the application process through the AAMC's Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) program. All requirements are listed in VSLO. If your school requires an affiliation agreement in addition to being an affiliated VSLO school, please see our affiliation agreement information.

In order to maintain a quality learning environment, the number of visiting students accepted into any elective rotation will be determined by the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine in its sole discretion.

Insurance Coverage: The School of Medicine does not provide professional liability insurance coverage for visiting students. Therefore, all students that are accepted are required to have professional liability insurance coverage from their own medical school or they must obtain an individual policy.

Evaluations: Evaluation of the student's performance will be made using the evaluation form provided by the visiting student's medical school. This will be forwarded to the student's medical school upon completion of the elective.
