  • Application Strategies

    Important

    • Submit all application materials and letters of recommendation on the day ERAS opens.
    • Many programs offer interviews within 2 weeks of opening of ERAS. This gives the applicant an opportunity better construct their interview schedule.

    Research

    • Research is desirable but not required.
    • Be prepared to talk about your research during an interview.

    • Experiences that have informed your decision
    • Dedication to lifelong learning and commitment to the specialty
    • What you plan to do with your training?                                                       

    Letters of Recommendation

    • Three (3) letters are required.
    • Two letters should be from within the specialty, preferably from an academic rotation.
    • Internal Medicine or Surgery is an option for a 3rd letter.
    • Make sure letter writers can speak to your clinical skills.
