Institutional and Faculty Affairs

Faculty Affairs

Supporting faculty affairs is vital to creating a positive and productive academic environment. We are committed to addressing the professional needs and concerns of faculty, ensuring fair and transparent policies, and promoting a culture of respect, equity and inclusion. By offering guidance on tenure, promotion and professional development, as well as advocating for faculty well-being, we aim to foster a supportive framework that empowers faculty to thrive in their roles and contribute meaningfully to the institution's success.

Faculty Development & Teaching Resources

Faculty development

Supporting faculty development is essential to fostering a vibrant academic community. By providing opportunities for professional growth, mentorship and continuous learning, we aim to empower faculty to excel in teaching, research and service. Through targeted programs, resources and a commitment to work-life balance, we support faculty in reaching their full potential, enhancing their impact on students and contributing to the advancement of the institution's academic mission.

Teaching resources

The Faculty Development program offers a portfolio of resources to support educators at every stage of their career. From concise one-pagers and flexible on-demand courses to immersive in-person learning experiences, we provide tools that enhance teaching effectiveness and foster continuous growth. In addition to instructional support, we offer targeted professional development to strengthen scholarly and administrative skills, and leadership development programs that prepare faculty to lead with confidence and impact across academic and institutional settings.

Faculty Evaluations

Faculty have access to their student evaluations through their department, with individual folders made available to faculty to view evaluations. Instructions for accessing your student evaluations are communicated to faculty by department chairs.

To access the distributed evaluation summary reports for Preclerkship, Clerkship, and Elective courses, Nevada Box “Faculty Folders” are organized within each Department’s evaluations folder, using Faculty’s First and Last Names as the folder names. Please note that individual folders are part of the Department's evaluations folder, but faculty members can only view the contents of their own folder. If you have an active NV Box account (https://box.unr.edu/), log in and search for your name in Nevada Box to find your Faculty Folder.

If you have a UNR email address but have not activated your NV Box account, you should have received an email invitation through NV Box to collaborate on your Faculty Folder. Instructions on how to activate and login to your NV Box account.

If you do not have a UNR email address, then the shared-folder web address of your Faculty Folder will be provided to you so that you can access your Faculty Folder without a NV Box account. The web address will be embedded in an encrypted email to ensure confidentiality.

To request the shared-folder web address of your Faculty Folder, contact Julianne Krogh or Jacob Blackard.

If you have any questions or concerns, including concerns that you are unable to access your Faculty Folder or that evaluations you expected to receive are not available, reach out to Julianne Krogh or Shannon Beets.

If you have any questions or concerns, including concerns that you are unable to access your Faculty Folder or that evaluations you expected to receive are not available, please reach out to facultyaffairs@med.unr.edu. To maintain student confidentiality, online student evaluations are distributed to faculty 6-12 months after course completion.
