Pathology and Laboratory Medicine

About us

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provides clinical pathology services to hospitals across to rural Nevada, education to future health care workers, is the interface between biomedical and translational research and provides anatomic pathology clinical care to patients via our partner Renown Regional Medical Center.

Our department is committed to exploring new educational programs that contribute to the expansion of future physicians and health care workers serving the Northern Nevada community. This includes programs such as the Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) training program which is in high demand, especially in rural Nevada.

It is rewarding to educate our future health care professionals as well as provide clinical pathology services to underserved rural hospital laboratories across rural Nevada. The future is especially exciting given our new pathology partner Renown Regional Medical Center and all the expertise and resources they bring to the table to improve the health of all Nevadans.
