Thank you for your interest in teaching our UNR Med learners. UNR Med Academic Clinical and Community Faculty are involved in a variety of teaching and mentoring activities, from interactive classroom activities and clinical precepting to mentorship and career advisement. To learn more about the opportunities, please complete the following Interest Form and submit your updated CV.
- Activating your University NetID
The NetID is a unique username provided by the University of Nevada, Reno for all active students, faculty (including academic clinical and community faculty members), and staff. This unlocks a plethora of resources for faculty and access to required trainings.
- Using your University Email
Once the NetID and password are active, faculty can access their University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine email through Office Outlook.
Please note, UNR policy requires employees, including academic clinical and community faculty to use their UNR email account for all university-related correspondence, such as communications for student/learner evaluations (ex. Elentra, New Innovations), Title IX Training access, committee mailing lists, course information, Web Campus/Canvas, etc. For more information, please see the policy and link below.
*UAM 2,005 - University Email Requirement for Employees University business conducted via email by University employees and Contingent Workers must be conducted using their University-issued @unr.edu email or associated aliases (@med.unr.edu) for university business.

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Training The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student educational records and establishes rights for students relative to the disclosure of these records. The training includes a self-paced PowerPoint presentation with cases and a separate quiz. Required for anyone who has student contact. CME/CE credit is available |

NetID Activation/ Password Reset
Please use the Identity Portal to “Activate My NetID” or “Forgot my NetID Password” and follow the prompts.
You will need your Contingent Worker/Employee ID.
If you need assistance, please contact the UNR Med Help Desk at (775) 682-5000 Option 2.
Note: the IT Helpdesk may ask for your “Contingent Worker / Employee ID number.”
University Email Access
Once your NetID is active, you will be able to access your University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine email by visiting Outlook on Office.com.
Your email address will be your NetID followed by "@unr.edu" ([YourNetID]@unr.edu)

- Enter your password
Visit the Savitt Medical Library websiteand log in with your NetID@unr.edu and Net ID password.
Please use the Identity Portal to reset your password if needed.

E. L. Wiegand Fitness Center Access and Membership
Yes, all Community and Academic Clinical Faculty members have the option to buy discounted access to E. L. Wiegand Fitness Center.
Please note: Access to the Fitness Center requires a WolfCard. Please reach out to Faculty Affairs at facultyaffairs@med.unr.eduwith all requests. We will need a current professional headshot photo (no hat or sunglasses) and a good mailing address to issue one.
E. L. Wiegand Fitness Center fees
Faculty and staff may purchase their membership at the E. L. Wiegand Fitness Center front desk. A payroll deduction option is also available.

The spouses / domestic partners of faculty, staff and students are eligible to purchase a membership provided that the faculty, staff or student has and maintains a primary membership. Spouses/domestic partner members will be charged at the corresponding primary pass holder's rate listed.
Community/Academic Clinical Faculty are eligible for grant-in-aid. There is a requirement of at least 112 hours of confirmed volunteer time within the previous semester to be eligible for 3 credits. This should be verified by the school prior to applying. Please see the link below for more details regarding eligibility:
