Graduate Medical Education

About us

Our GME programs are committed to excellence in education and patient care, ensuring our trainees are well-prepared for independent practice and leadership roles in their chosen specialties. Our department supports the professional and personal development of residents and fellows, promoting a well-rounded and fulfilling training experience.

Our team supports graduate medical education through:

  • Residency and fellowship programs: We offer diverse training programs that equip physicians with the clinical skills and knowledge needed to excel in various medical specialties and subspecialties.
  • Professional development: We provide resources and mentorship to support the academic and career advancement of our trainees, including opportunities for research, teaching and leadership.
  • Wellness and resilience: We promote a supportive training environment that prioritizes the well-being of residents and fellows, offering wellness initiatives and resources to maintain balance and resilience.

UNR Med's GME programs work in close partnership with Renown Health and VA Sierra Nevada. These collaborations enhance the educational experience by offering residents and fellows hands-on training in a world-class clinical environment, ensuring access to a wide variety of patient cases and cutting-edge medical technologies. Together, we are shaping the future of health care in the region.
