About the Pediatrics Residency Program
The pediatrics residency program provides a supportive and safe learning environment that prepares learners to be successful, board-certified physicians. As the only children's hospital in Northern Nevada, we operate the only NICU, PICU, Pediatric ER and Level II Trauma Center in the region. Our residents and physicians provide compassionate, high-quality care to primarily underserved children with limited access to medical services.
Our program's high faculty to residents ratio allows for individualized interactions and one-on-one learning experiences. Our faculty is comprised of the majority of pediatric subspecialists in Northern Nevada, who provide direct, hands-on learning. Our curriculum has a balance between outpatient and inpatient experiences, with numerous opportunities for electives and individualized rotations. Our residents come from diverse backgrounds and experiences which allows for a multidimensional shared experience. The small size of our program allows residents to become a second family that supports and mentors each other.
